Hi Everyone,
I have the 32 Gb iPod touch that uses voice over. I know how to play music and stuff, but how do you type on it? I've heard that typing is sort of tricky. Thanks,
Leslie

learning it at first can be, yes. i'd look for the demos of the ITouch from blindcooltech, or contact me as i have the one that actually helps you understand it easiest.
Once you learn it though it's quite simple

The important thing to understand is that although it's a virtual keyboard it uses standard qwerty positioning and this is what has made it easy for me to understand. One thing I do is use the hold and tap method. When you find a letter keep a finger on it and then with another finger tap anyware on the screen. This allows you to keep your orientation.

The only thing about it that really frustrates me sometimes is when I accidentally move my hand the wrong way and the keyboard moves and then I can't get it back to how it was before. Its getting easier to type on it, though.

Don't forget that there is a free pair of apps from the itunes app store from Neuonce called dictation and search. They can help you type by using your voice to enter text into the itouch. I've been using the apple headset to get them to work since that has a built in microphone. Still, I also use the device in portrate mode so the keys on the keyboard are closer together. Also, setting the voice over screen reader to announce words as you type is useful. I'd recommend getting those two apps though as well as using the ipod headset or a similar one with a built in microphone for best results with typing and recording and skyping. Yes, you can actually run skype on the ipod touch very easily and the latest version is accessible with voice over.

Hope this helps,
